Terms of Service

Section Manager is published by (ABN ), of ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of the Section Manager Google Docs add-on and this website. By installing or using the add-on you accept them. If you are agreeing for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Section Manager in accordance with these terms.

The add-on has a free tier and a paid tier. The free tier is permanent and requires no payment. The paid tier ("Pro") is licensed per seat: one seat covers one person, who may use it on more than one device, but a seat may not be shared between people. Activating a licence key on a new installation claims a seat; when all the seats on a licence are claimed, further activations are refused.

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded;
• use the add-on to process material you have no right to handle;
• interact with the add-on by automated means in a way that degrades the service for others;
• resell or white-label the add-on without a written agreement with us.

The add-on operates on the Google Docs document you have it open in, using the permissions you grant at install. It requests documents.currentonly, which is limited to the active document, together with the permissions needed to show its own sidebar and manage its auto-open trigger.

You remain responsible for your documents and for whether it is appropriate to use the add-on with their content, including where they contain confidential, personal or regulated information.

Our handling of information received through Google APIs is described in the privacy policy and adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Section Manager depends on Google Docs and Google Workspace, operated by Google LLC and outside our control. Changes Google makes to those services may affect the add-on.

The add-on is free to install. The free tier includes everything described on the pricing page as free, permanently, including a lifetime allowance of five section deletions per Google account.

Pro is charged per seat per month in US dollars at the prices shown on the pricing page. Any GST or VAT is calculated and shown at checkout based on where you are. We may change prices for future billing periods on reasonable notice; your current period is not repriced.

Payment is taken by Stripe, and card details go to Stripe directly. Neither this website nor the add-on collects or stores card or bank details at any point.

A subscription continues until you cancel it, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than ending the current period. When a subscription ends, the add-on returns to the free behaviour — nothing in your documents is removed, altered or locked, because everything it creates was only ever in your own document and account.

If something is not working and we cannot fix it, write to us and we will refund you. Nothing here limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent legislation where you live.

We aim to keep the add-on working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may carry out maintenance, release updates, or change features. Support is provided by email on a best-effort basis while the add-on is free, with a target of one business day.

We own the add-on, this website, and all associated software, branding and documentation. These terms grant you a licence to use the add-on, not ownership of it.

You own your documents and their content. Nothing here transfers any right in your content to us.

Google Docs, Google Drive and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC. Section Manager is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC.

To the extent permitted by law, the add-on is provided "as is" and we exclude all implied warranties. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or fit your particular requirements.

Section Manager deletes and rewrites content in your documents. Deleting, restoring and reordering a section all work by capturing its content, removing it, and rebuilding it in place. Deleted sections are retained in History so they can be restored, but History is capped, images are not preserved through this process, and table formatting may not rebuild exactly. You are responsible for keeping your own backups and for reviewing changes before relying on a document. Google Docs version history remains available independently of the add-on.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with these terms is limited to AUD $100, or the amount you have paid us for the add-on in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss or corruption of data.

Where the Australian Consumer Law applies and our liability cannot be excluded, our liability is limited, at our option, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You may uninstall the add-on at any time, which revokes its access to your documents. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms or if required by law.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in the add-on or by email where we have an address for you. Continuing to use the add-on after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
